All official forms can be downloaded from the BAföG website of the Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space. We recommend that you submit the application online and also upload the missing supporting documents and parental documents there.
Here you will find additional forms and forms from the Bremen Office for Educational Support, which should make it easier for you to submit your application. Please make sure that these have been completed and signed by you and (if necessary) also signed and stamped by the relevant authorities.
As with all applications, please submit the applications in good time so that we can check your entitlement to funding before the current funding ends. We will request missing documents by post. You can make it easier for us to process your application if you submit all the requested documents at the same time.
A committee activity within the scope of § 15 Para. 3 No. 3 BAföG can justify an entitlement to funding beyond the maximum funding period. However, the group of eligible persons is small and some conditions must be met. The longer a voluntary activity was carried out in the past, the higher the probability that the delay was caused. The number of hours must be reasonable within the meaning of the law and may not exceed 20 hours per week during the lecture period. Furthermore, the missing ECTS points must be in proportion to the committee work performed. Proof of committee work is confirmed by the respective committee and must be submitted by the applicant. The judgment of the VG Bremen(7K 1516/19) of 22.02.2022 makes it clear that committee work does not usually lead to a claim for further funding.
A calculation is always required on a case-by-case basis in accordance with the guidelines developed in case law.
