It is possible to apply for a place at any time and be placed on the list of applicants. However, you are only entitled to a place of residence once you have submitted all the documents required on our housing application form. It is very important to submit the certificate of enrollment from the University of Bremen, Bremen University of Applied Sciences, HfK Bremen or Bremerhaven University of Applied Sciences as soon as possible after you have been accepted (letter of admission).
No. The requirements set out in section 2 must be met.
Anyone who does not accept an offer of accommodation can only apply for a place in one of our shared flats. There is no entitlement to be allocated a different place. Exceptions apply for study-related absences.
Apartments are allocated according to a list of applicants. You will be notified automatically by e-mail if an apartment is available.
In addition to the rent, the main ancillary costs including internet access.
For rooms in shared flats, the residents have the right to have a say. In this case, the consent of the respective shared flat must be obtained from the applicant. Contact with the shared flat can be made directly via the homepage. However, the requirements under point 2. must be met.
The maximum period of residence is 36 months if the tenancy agreement was first concluded on 01.04.2024 or later. For students who already had a tenancy agreement with us immediately before, the maximum period of residence is 60 months.

You rent a room and share the sanitary facilities and kitchen with the other flatmates.

Yes, but the furnishings may vary in the individual residences. Household items and bedding must always be brought along.

In exceptional cases, an extension is possible in individual cases. Please refer to the "Application for extension of residence time" for the requirements. This can be found under "Forms and information".
Yes, the first rent and deposit must be paid before the contract begins.

For subletting, the application form provided for this purpose must be completed in full and submitted to the person responsible for the respective residential complex with all the necessary documents at least 3 weeks before the start of the subletting.
